SPEAKER_00: It's five forty-seven in the morning.
SPEAKER_00: Before your feet even hit the floor, your brain is already calculating.
SPEAKER_00: Did I eat too much yesterday?
SPEAKER_00: Will the scale be up today?
SPEAKER_00: Maybe today I'll finally get it right.
SPEAKER_00: You step on the scale.
SPEAKER_00: You promised yourself the number wouldn't affect your mood this time.
SPEAKER_00: But somehow it always does.
SPEAKER_00: By lunch, you've ignored your hunger because you're being good, feel safer than actually listening to your body.
SPEAKER_00: Dinner comes, your family enjoys lasagna.
SPEAKER_00: You're drinking a protein shake because you're trying to have more willpower this week.
SPEAKER_00: Later that night, the pantry starts calling your name again.
SPEAKER_00: And you end the day making that same promise you've made yourself hundreds of times before.
SPEAKER_00: Tomorrow, I'll do better.
SPEAKER_00: I see you, beautiful.
SPEAKER_00: I've been here over and over again.
SPEAKER_00: And if this feels painfully familiar to you, I want you to know something.
SPEAKER_00: The problem isn't that you lack the discipline, the problem is that you've been trying to lose weight through control.
SPEAKER_00: And while control can absolutely help you lose weight, it almost never helps you keep it off.
SPEAKER_00: Today we're talking about that shift that actually creates that lasting fat loss.
SPEAKER_00: Learning to trust yourself.
SPEAKER_00: So put those earbuds in, take a deep breath, and let's prioritize the best version of you.

SPEAKER_00: Or the link is in the show notes.
SPEAKER_00: Many women believe successful weight loss means becoming more disciplined, having more rules, more restriction, more tracking, more saying no, and for a little while that is going to work.
SPEAKER_00: The scale moves.
SPEAKER_00: People notice your genes fit better.
SPEAKER_00: So you naturally think this must be the answer.
SPEAKER_00: But here's the catch.
SPEAKER_00: Control is exhausting because it requires constant decision making.
SPEAKER_00: Every meal feels like a test.
SPEAKER_00: Every restaurant becomes stressful.
SPEAKER_00: Every vacation feels like you're off plan.
SPEAKER_00: You're always one meal away from believing you've ruined everything.
SPEAKER_00: And eventually, life gets busy.
SPEAKER_00: Stress shows up, vacations happen, a birthday party, a hard week at work, and suddenly all that control that you gained disappears because control was never designed to last forever.
SPEAKER_00: That's why so many women lose the same 20 pounds over and over again.
SPEAKER_00: The goal was never supposed to be lifelong control.
SPEAKER_00: The goal is trust.
SPEAKER_00: So what's the difference between control and trust when it comes to weight loss?
SPEAKER_00: Control asks, can I be good today?
SPEAKER_00: Trust asks, what would a healthy woman naturally do?
SPEAKER_00: That's a completely different conversation.
SPEAKER_00: Healthy women don't make perfect choices, they make consistent, healthy choices over and over again because they're no longer trying to prove that they're healthy.
SPEAKER_00: They believe that they are.
SPEAKER_00: Your identity drives your behaviors.
SPEAKER_00: When you constantly identify as someone who struggles, you'll keep acting like someone who struggles.
SPEAKER_00: When you begin identifying as someone who takes care of themselves, your choices start matching that identity.
SPEAKER_00: So you don't need more discipline.
SPEAKER_00: You need a new identity.
SPEAKER_00: An identity that's rooted in the woman who you want to become.
SPEAKER_00: All right, the next point here.
SPEAKER_00: Trust means food loses its power.
SPEAKER_00: Imagine going to a birthday party.
SPEAKER_00: You enjoy a piece of cake, you laugh, you celebrate, you go home, and that's it.
SPEAKER_00: You don't have guilt.
SPEAKER_00: You don't go home and do a punishment workout by running on the treadmill.
SPEAKER_00: You don't skip breakfast tomorrow morning because you're guilty.
SPEAKER_00: You feel shamed.
SPEAKER_00: There's no replaying every bite that you had before you go to bed.
SPEAKER_00: That is trust.
SPEAKER_00: Food becomes just food.
SPEAKER_00: It's not a reward.
SPEAKER_00: It's not failure.
SPEAKER_00: It's not proof you're doing well.
SPEAKER_00: It's not proof you're failing.
SPEAKER_00: When food loses its emotional charge, its emotional power over you, weight loss actually becomes much easier for you because you're making choices, intentional choices for the women that you want to become instead of reacting emotionally to every single bite that you eat and having shame and guilt.
SPEAKER_00: All right, point three.
SPEAKER_00: Trust is built by keeping small promises to yourself.
SPEAKER_00: So here's something I've noticed about women over 40.
SPEAKER_00: If you tell your boss you're going to finish a project, you do it.
SPEAKER_00: If your child needs you, you're there.
SPEAKER_00: If your best friend calls, you answer.
SPEAKER_00: You are in incredibly reliable, just not with yourself.
SPEAKER_00: Trust isn't built by losing 30 pounds.
SPEAKER_00: It's built every single time you keep one small promise to yourself, going for the walk, eating the protein, stopping when you're comfortably satisfied, drinking the water, going to bed on time.
SPEAKER_00: These tiny moments may seem so insignificant in the big picture, but they're actually building evidence.
SPEAKER_00: Evidence that says I'm becoming someone I can count on.
SPEAKER_00: And confidence doesn't come before action.
SPEAKER_00: The confidence comes because of the repeated actions that you are taking.
SPEAKER_00: So here are your three action steps for today.
SPEAKER_00: Number one, stop asking, was I good today?
SPEAKER_00: Replace that question that repeats in your mind every day at the end of the day with, did my choices align with the healthy woman I'm becoming?
SPEAKER_00: This shifts your focus away from perfection and towards consistency.
SPEAKER_00: Number two, make one promise you know you'll keep.
SPEAKER_00: Not 10, but just one.
SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's eating protein with breakfast.
SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's walking 15 minutes after you've had your lunch, drinking enough water.
SPEAKER_00: Build trust through wins, not by overwhelming yourself with 15 new things that you feel like you need to be doing this week.
SPEAKER_00: Number three, practice neutrality.
SPEAKER_00: The next time you eat something off plan, don't label it.
SPEAKER_00: Don't punish yourself.
SPEAKER_00: Don't say that you ate bad.
SPEAKER_00: Don't say that you failed.
SPEAKER_00: Simply ask, what's my next best choice?
SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what someone who trusts yourself would do.
SPEAKER_00: And your next meal, make it a healthy meal.
SPEAKER_00: Add protein, add vegetables, add whole foods to that meal.
SPEAKER_00: That's your next best choice.
SPEAKER_00: Here's your mindset shift that I want you to think about.
SPEAKER_00: Here's what I hope you remember after this episode.
SPEAKER_00: Your goal isn't to become a woman who controls herself forever.
SPEAKER_00: Your goal is to become a woman who trusts herself because control requires constant effort, constant decisions, and it fatigues your brain and you spiral.
SPEAKER_00: Trust creates consistency.
SPEAKER_00: Control asks you to fight yourself every single day.
SPEAKER_00: Trust puts your mind and your body on the same team, working together.
SPEAKER_00: The woman you're becoming doesn't maintain her weight because she's perfect.
SPEAKER_00: She maintains it because her healthy habits have become a part of who she is.
SPEAKER_00: That's the freedom you're really looking for.
SPEAKER_00: If today's episode spoke to you, and if you know another woman who's exhausted from constantly trying to control food, send this episode to her.
SPEAKER_00: It might be exactly what she needs to hear.
SPEAKER_00: Finally, if you're ready to stop starting over and start becoming the kind of woman who naturally maintains a healthy lifestyle, please be sure to subscribe to the podcast so you never miss an episode.
SPEAKER_00: And don't forget to leave a review.
SPEAKER_00: Remember, friend, you don't need another diet.
SPEAKER_00: You need to become someone who can trust herself because lasting weight loss is not built on control.
SPEAKER_00: It's built on confidence, consistency, and keeping your word to yourself.
SPEAKER_00: It's one small choice at a time.
SPEAKER_00: And please don't forget the freebie that I have in the show notes for you with my seven podcasts and the document that goes with it that's going to help you work through each of the things that I've added in there based on nutrition, habits, and mindset shifts.
SPEAKER_00: So that way you can start living your best life.
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for listening.
SPEAKER_00: Thank you for choosing to invest in your health and in your future.
SPEAKER_00: These small moments of care are what build real confidence and lasting strength so you can live your best life.
SPEAKER_00: All right, ladies, remember that you are so beautiful and so strong.
SPEAKER_00: Until next time, keep showing up for yourself, keep celebrating those small wins.
SPEAKER_00: And remember, one choice, one change, and one meal at a time.
SPEAKER_00: I hope you have an amazing week.
